Bangalore: ISRO Internship opportunities: In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes the importance of holistic education, students across India will now have the chance to gain practical experience through internships in industry and organizational settings.

This initiative aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, equipping students with the skills and insights needed for their future careers.

Isro Internship

One of the leading centers of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), is offering internship opportunities to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and PhD students. The internship period ranges from a minimum of 15 days to a maximum of 45 days, providing ample time for students to immerse themselves in hands-on projects and research activities.

Internship Scheme and Eligibility Criteria

The internship scheme at URSC is open to Indian citizens who meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Current Students: Candidates must be enrolled in a UG, PG, or PhD program at a recognized university or institution, either in India or abroad.
  2. Recent Graduates: Candidates who have completed their UG or PG degrees within the last six months from a recognized university/institution are eligible to apply for internships.
  3. Regular On-Campus Students: The internship is open to students currently enrolled in a regular on-campus program at a recognized university/institution.
  4. Course Relevance: The student’s course of study must be relevant to the work carried out at URSC.
  5. Benefits: Certificate will be awarded to Project Trainees/ Interns upon satisfactory completion of their project/ internship and on submission of their assignment report and its evaluation by the concerned division heads.

ISRO Guidelines for candidates applying 

No Financial Assistance: Interns will not receive any stipend, transportation, or canteen facilities during the internship period.
Project Allocation: Students will be assigned internship projects based on the availability of projects, facilities, and the suitability of their academic background.
First Come, First Served: Internship slots are limited and will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Academic Eligibility: Students must be in at least their 5th semester or 3rd year of study to be eligible to apply.

 

ISRO opportunity Scheme for Students

Opportunity will be provided for UG/PG/PhD students to carry out their final year/semester project work as per the eligibility criteria mentioned below:

Degree Eligibility Criteria Duration
BE/BTech Should have completed 6th semester Minimum 45 days
ME/MTech Should have completed 1st semester Minimum 120 days
BSc/Diploma Only final year students Minimum 45 days
MSc Student should have completed 1st semester Minimum 120 days
PhD Scholars should have completed course work Minimum 30 days

The students should have possessed aggregate of minimum 60% or CGPA 6.32 on a scale of 10.
