Australian High Commissioner, Barry O’Farrell, meets Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel

Australian High Commissioner Mr. Barry O’Farrell met Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at his residence office this evening. He discussed in detail with the Chief Minister about the possibilities of mutual cooperation between Australia and Chhattisgarh in the socio-cultural sector and capital investment especially in mining and environmental protection. Industries Minister  Kawasi Lakhma was specially present on this occasion.

High Commissioner Farrell took keen interest in the schemes of the state government implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for the overall development of the state, upliftment of tribal community and improvement in social indicators. He also appreciated the efforts made by the government for prevention of corona infection in Chhattisgarh. The High Commissioner expressed his desire to promote bilateral relations in various areas of development. He said that Australia has expertise in the field of mining. He talked about mutual participation in the fields of mining survey, exploration-mining technology etc.

Chief Minister informs about the industry-business friendly policy of the state: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Chhattisgarh is a state rich in mineral and forest wealth. Various types of resources are available in the state. He expressed happiness over the socio-cultural partnership with Australia and the willingness of its entrepreneurs to invest industrial capital in Chhattisgarh and said that the state government will provide all possible support for this. The Chief Minister informed about the efforts being made by the government to promote organic farming and value addition of forest produce in Chhattisgarh.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Subrata Sahu informed to the Chief Minister about the socio-geographical situation of Chhattisgarh state and progress made in various fields. On this occasion Principal Secretary Industries Manoj Pingua, Secretary Chief Minister Siddharth Komal Pardeshi, Director Industries Anil Tuteja, Managing Director Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation P. Arun Prasad, Managing Director Minor Forest Produce Federation Sanjay Shukla, Consul General Ron Ainsworth, High Commission Secretary Ms. Amy Keough, Business Development Manager Partha Sen and other officials were present. Australian High Commissioner, Farrell, who came on a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh, also met the officials and senior officials of industrial organizations of the state, and held discussions about Australia’s participation in the fields of Mining & Environment, Biofuel, Technology, Research, Food Processing, Renewable Energy and the possibilities of capital investment by entrepreneurs in detail.
