Hack Club BIT Durg organized “HacktoberWeek” in collaboration with the OpInCo community, a week-long subset of “Hacktoberfest”. The event took place from October 07-15, 2022 on the campus of BIT Durg. The sessions emphasized delivering to students the best industry practices that could be integrated into their work style to make successful open-source contributions.
Each day the sessions included different domains of the tech industry, such as design, documentation, ma- chine learning, advocacy, etc. “Hacktoberfest” is a month-long celebration of Open-Source organized by Digital Ocean in the month of October every year. This year, the celebration was more towards the No-Code and Low-Code contributions. The sessions were led by these experienced indus- try-tested speakers/students Kartikey Rawat, Shruti Gupta, Rahul Sharma, Anubhav Agrawal, Niket Jain, Rahul Kesharwani, Atulya Singh, Sonal Jain, Dewansh Thakur, Dheeraj Ghosh, Sanskriti Harmukh, Aditi Dwivedi, Harshjot Singh kambo, Dhanshree Mishra This event was con- ducted under the guidance of Dr. Sunita Soni, HOD (Department of Computer Science), Dr Ani Thomas, HOD (Department of Information Technology), and Assistant Professor Chaitali Choudhary, (Department of Computer Science). The event was a grand success with the support and guidance of faculty members and student volunteers- Dheeraj Ghosh (Hack Club Lead), Vinayak Rawat, Rahul Kesharwani, Ritwik Kundu, Manaswi Sinha, Shashwat Gupta, Poorva Diwan, Toukir Khan, Rishika Jain, Piyush Joshi, Ishu Pathak, Shashank Yadav, Shiuli Dani, Devraj Singh. The authorities of BIT Durg, Director Dr. Arun Arora, Principal Dr. MK Gupta, and Vice Principal Dr. Manisha Sharma praised the event and its organizing team for an informative event.
