Australian Consulate Ms. Ainsworth appreciates Gothan’s activities…She seeks information regarding Vermi compost

Ms. Rowan Ainsworth, Consulate General of the Australian Consulate, on a two-day visit to  Chhattisgarh, has appreciated the Suraji Gaon Yojana of the Government of Chhattisgarh, Narva-Garuwa-Ghuruwa-Bari and Godhan Nyay Yojana. Australian Consulate General Ms. Ainsworth reached Adarsh ​​Gauthan Navagaon in Abhanpur block of Raipur district this afternoon and took stock of the income-oriented activities carried out by women’s groups including the provision of fodder and water for livestock, purchase of cow dung and preparation of vermi compost. Ms. Ainsworth expressed her happiness over the management of the Gothan built for the conservation and promotion of livestock. During her visit to Gothan, she took information about the entire process of making Vermi Compost from the women of self-help group and said that by using this manure, the land of Australia can be made more fertile.

Vermicompost prepared in Gothan can make Australia’s soil more fertile:  Consulate General Ms. Ainsworth was briefed by the women of self-help group associated with Gothan about the whole process from purchase of cow dung to de-composing and using Vermi-compost prepared earthworms.  Ms. Ainsworth took information from the women of self-help groups engaged in vegetable production under the Bari scheme, from planting vegetables to production, marketing and income earned.  She saw ladyfinger, papaya, banana, gourd, bhaji etc. grown in the Bari and also inquired about the irrigation system.The sisters of self-help group told about the Tikhur and Satavar plants in Gothan, that their consumption increases the immunity of body. She saw the shepherd’s room, cattle shed and kotna etc. built in Gothan and said that this would encourage animal husbandry.

Ms. Ainsworth planted Amaltas sapling in Gothan on this occasion and said that she would definitely come during her upcoming visit to Raipur to see the Amaltas sapling planted in Gauthan.  Assistant Collector Mr. Abhishek Kumar informed Ms. Ainsworth in detail about the Godhan Nyay Yojana. Senior MLA Mr. Dhanendra Sahu, local public representatives, officers of the concerned department, employees, women of self-help groups and rural people were present on this occasion.
