Godrej Consumer Products profit surges 24 pc in Q4

New Delhi,(UNI) On the back of healthy volume growth, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) on Wednesday reported 24.47% year-on-year jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 452.14 crore in January-March quarter (Q4) of the financial year 2022-23.

The FMCG company had posted a net profit of Rs 363.24 crore in the same quarter a year ago.

The company’s revenue from operations in Q4FY23 stood at Rs 3,200.16 crore as against Rs 2,915.82 crore in the corresponding period of previous year.

The Q4FY23 consolidated EBITDA grew by 32% year-on-year.

Commenting on the business performance of Q4FY23, Sudhir Sitapati, Managing Director and CEO, GCPL said that the company continued to witness sequential improvement in volume growth with 6% year-on-year increase in Q4.

He said that the performance was broad based with India branded business delivering stellar volume growth of 13%, led by double-digit volume growth in both home care and personal care.

“In Indonesia, our core business performance continued to improve with ex-hygiene growth of 11% in constant currency terms. The double-digit growth trajectory in our Africa, USA and Middle East business was temporarily impacted by election and demonetisation in Nigeria,” he said.

The company expects to build on the current momentum and deliver volume-led growth along with upfront marketing investments and improvement in profitability.

“We continue to have a strong balance sheet. We are on track in our journey to reduce wasted cost and are deploying this to drive profitable and sustainable volume growth across our portfolio through category development,” said Sitapati.
